Type V Collagen provides structure and strength to connective tissue and is found in many places in the body, especially skin, lung, intestinal walls and walls of blood vessels. This Type V Collagen product is isolated from placenta and is purified using a multi-step process with a final purity of >95%. Type V collagen forms a triple helix composed of aAlpha1(V)2 Alpha 2(V) heterotrimer.
The product is supplied as a sterile solution at 0.5 mg per vial at approximately 0.15 to 0.30 mg/ml in 100 mM acetic acid. A Certificate of Analysis is available with the purchase of each product. Type V collagen product is provided in a user-friendly packaging for use and storage.
Type V Collagen is typically used as a thin coating on tissue culture surfaces. Specific instructions are found in the Directions for Use. This product is generally usedin vitroas a substrate scaffold to enhance cell attachment, adherence and proliferation. Type V collagen may be used to culture a variety of cell types.
