ThephotoinitiatorconsistsofLAPtobeformulatedin1XcellculturemediaorPBSwhichallowsbluelightphotocrosslinkingofthecollagenat405nm.

Collagenmethacrylateisusefulforformingscaffoldswithvaryingdegreeofstiffness,byalteringcollagenconcentrationorthedoseofUV-lightexposure[2].Itisalsobeingextensivelycharacterizedforitsusefulnessin3Dbioprinting(extrusion,inkjet,andphotolithographic[3]).
